Dr. Sura A.E. Ali Zwain

Dr. Sura Zwain is a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with a strong dedication to providing exceptional women’s health services. With a career spanning over two decades, she has demonstrated her expertise in various aspects of women's health.

In her current role as a Medical Director and Consultant Obstetrics and Gynaecology at NMC Royal Women's Hospital, she exemplifies exceptional leadership, guiding the medical team towards excellence in patient care. Driven by her passion for women's health, she continuously strives to implement innovative approaches and ensure the highest standards of medical practice are upheld.

Prior to joining NMC Royal Women’s Hospital, she was associated with Danat Al Emarat Hospital since August 2020, where she supervised junior specialists, residents, and interns. She actively contributed as a member of the education faculty for residency and internship programs, sharing her knowledge and expertise.

Previously, Dr. Sura Zwain served as a Consultant Ob-Gyn at IBN Nafees Medical Center from November 2015. Dr. Sura Zwain's career includes serving as a senior specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Al-Corniche Hospital in Abu Dhabi from 2009 to 2015. She played a pivotal role in the maternity delivery unit, operating theatre, and outpatient clinic, ensuring comprehensive care for her patients. During her tenure, she also contributed to urgent care services and conducted ward rounds for patients under her team's care. Her previous experience includes training at Elwiyah Hospital in Baghdad, Iraq, and higher training in O&G at Al-Basheer Hospital in Amman, Jordan.

Dr Sura’s responsibilities included managing low-risk and high-risk pregnancies, addressing gynaecological and fertility concerns, and performing obstetrics and gynaecology scans. She has extensive experience in conducting normal deliveries, Caesarean sections, and external cephalic versions (ECV). Furthermore, she has expertise in performing minor and major gynecological procedures, including vaginal tightening and vulval rejuvenation using laser technology.

Dr. Sura Zwain obtained her M.B.Ch.B. from the College of Medicine, Al Mustansiyra University, Baghdad, Iraq in 1999. She holds a Certificate of Arab Board in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (CABOG) from 2008. Additionally, she has a Professional Diploma in Ob/Gyn Ultrasound from the University of Sharjah, earned in April 2016. Her commitment to continuous learning and professional development is evident through her exemption from the part 1 membership exam of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) – MRCOG (Part 1).

Dr. Sura Zwain is an esteemed member of the Iraqi Medical Association and the Jordan Medical Association, further showcasing her dedication to the medical profession.
