"Weqaya" comes from the Arabic word meaning “Prevention”. The word Weqaya emphasizes that simple lifestyle preventive measures can decreases the cases and deaths related to cardiovascular diseases. As part of this program, NMC Royal Women’s Hospital provides Weqaya approved food menus for our patients and visitors.Department of Health, Abu Dhabi encourages the consumption of healthy food, whether home cooked meals or eating out in restaurants and cafes. In supporting of raising awareness about healthy eating and good eating habits, DoH also encourages food producers and marketers, food manufactures and producer, supermarkets and food outlets, to use the Weqaya’s logo to promote healthy and nutritious food.
