Excision of Stage 3 and 4 Endometriosis

The endometrium is the tissue that lines the inside of the uterus. Endometriosis is the abnormal formation of the endometrial tissue outside the uterus, in places such as the ovaries or fallopian tubes. This can cause pain, especially during your menstrual periods, adhesions between the pelvic organs and may be associated with infertility. Moderate-to-severe endometriosis (stage 3-4) may be treated by excision or removal of the abnormal tissue.
